Cross Bar Orion Bug

"Orie"

$800 Breeding Fee - Live Cover Only

Cross Bar Oropm Bug is a 2009, 14.3h, AQHA, sable champagne stallion. E/e, At/a, n/Ch. Five panel negative. Orie is eligible for registration with the FQHA. He came back at over 85%. He is a great grandson of Cooke County ETC and the sire of two foals we purchased earlier this year. Orie came to Texas from Canada when he was 3.5yrs old. He has about 4 months under saddle. His 2014 foal crop with Tonkawa Hill Quarter Horses was 100% champagne. Orie has a fabulous disposition. He got my attention when I first visited Tonkawa Hill Quarter Horses. He was playing with the foals like our late stallion WW Tinkas Toy used to. His foals are all people oriented like our Cooke and Tinka foals. They are in your pocket, quiet and easy to work with. There has been lots of interest in Orie's foals from overseas buyers. We expect there will be at least one overseas soon.

Orie is very smart and willing even when the mares are around. I hope to show Orie in 2015 but he is under no time schedule. I want him to progress at his own pace. We will be breeding some of our Cooke daughters to him in 2015 and will stand him to a limited number of outside mares in 2015. A big thank you to Tonkawa Hill Quarter Horses for your work in making this happen. You can see several of Orie’s ’14 foals on their facebook page. I think there are still a few for sale.

Orie came off a large working ranch in Canada. Orie’s sire, Cooke County Classic, was fatally injured in a pasture accident at a young age. Cooke County Classic was sired by a champagne son of Cooke County Etc, Sugar Cooke. Sugar Cooke is a working ranch/roping horse in Canada, and also a grandson of Leo Tolo (ROM Performance, Race Money Earner). Other well-known foundation QH greats and performers on Orie's pedigree include AQHA Hall of Famer/World Champion Sire Leo, World Champion/Superior Halter Sire The Ole Man (SI=100, ROM Performance, Race Winnings=$21,156), AQHA Champion/ROM Performance McLeo Bars (SI=85, 16 Halter points, 12 Performance points), Otoe Maiden (SI=95, ROM Performance, Race Money Earner), and Lady Gann (SI=95, Race Money Earner, 3 Halter points).

Orie’s dam is Canyons Classy Bug. Her sire is Classy Sugar Doc, is an own son of Superior Performance Reining stallion Scotto Dee Bar (60.0 Performance Points, NCHA Earnings of $1,132, and Sire of ROM Performance and NCHA/NRHA Money Earning Offspring), who is by Superior Halter and Performance/AQHA Champion Doc's Dee Bar (170.0 Halter and 273.0 Performance Points, and Sire of Supreme Champion, World/Reserve World Champion, Superior Halter and Performance, and AQHA Champion Offspring). Classy Sugar Doc also has on his papers AQHA Hall of Fame stallion Doc Bar (36.0 Halter Points, and Sire of Offspring earning 6 World Championships, more than $3.2 Million in NCHA Winnings, and 8,894 total AQHA Points) as well as the legendary Hall of Famer Sugar Bars (Speed Index = 95, 7 wins, $3,166 Race Winnings, and 2.0 Halter Points).

Canyons Classy Bug was out of Miss Canyon Bug who was by Mr Bug Wimpy. His foals excelled in the arena, especially in barrel racing. Inducted into the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboy Association Hall of Fame in 2008.)
