Schedule update We are about to start our 5th month of 2026 😳. We have one foal on the ground and two to go. We have started breeding mares for 2027. We plan on having foals by IfWhizsWereGuns, Cooke County ETC, and Triple Sparklin Whiz. I will decide which foals I will be keeping by July 1st. I get asked why I charge so much for my foals. Here are some reasons:

The only way is through

Foals are basically born without an immune system. They rely on the mare’s colostrum for antibodies. Their intestinal lining can only absorb the antibodies for the first 12hrs. If the foal ends up with failure of passive transfer (didn’t absorb antibodies) their odds of survival without IV plasma are slim. I’ve had the ability to run IgG on the farm for awhile. We are finished with 1/4 of the year 😳 I am booking lessons for May. April is 90% full. I have 3 weekend lesson spots left in April and a couple week day spots. I am not taking any rehab horses until August at the earliest. I am not taking any full time training horses until August at the earliest. We live in a world of instant gratification. We want what we want right now. That applies to tangible objects but it also applies to new skills. The problem is that new skills require practice, repetition and FAILURE to become proficient. We have a tendency to want to see big progress in our skills or our horse’s skills daily.
