Wisdom Wednesday

Big hides bad. It is easier to ride in larger areas or ride figures / patterns larger. The horse doesn’t have to be balanced. It’s only when you decrease the size of your riding area / figure / pattern that you find the holes due to increased difficulty. School at slower gaits and correct the holes instead of making things bigger to make things easier. Go slow until the skill is solid at the smallest version of the exercise. Then increase the gait. You may need to go a bit larger when you increase the gait. But your goal should always be the ability to ride it at the smallest version well before increasing the gait again.
