Horses have defensive behaviors when they feel threatened. So do humans. When we feel insecure, our behavior and communication change. When our horse is concerned and feeling defensive it doesn’t instill confidence or security in us. Without proper conditioning and training of our nervous system, we revert to defensive behaviors. Unfortunately, this makes our horses more insecure and defensive. The chain reaction starts and the wreck is inevitable.
