Wisdom Wednesday

Gratefulness

With age and life experience comes wisdom. That comes with a lot of bumps and bruises physically, emotionally and mentally.

I am grateful for all the equines who have put up with me through the years. They didn’t volunteer for the jobs they were assigned but they tolerated it. I’m grateful for every horse that tolerates me even when they aren’t getting my best version. Somedays I’m stiff, tired, overwhelmed and they show up for me.

I’m grateful for my clients. I love each and everyone of you. You and your horses enrich my life.

I’m grateful to be at a place in my career where outside of the daily farm chores, I can take a holiday off. But I’m grateful for the years I couldn’t. They taught me hardwork and perseverance are what achieve your goals and dreams. Work for what you want. Nothing worth having is handed to you.

I’m grateful for our equine vets. They are often overworked, under appreciated and have too high of expectations placed on them. I’m especially grateful for Dr. Canada.

I’m grateful for all the equine professionals I work with. Without you, I couldn’t do my job.

I’m grateful for my family who enable my equine addiction 😂. The farm is a lot of work and it would be nearly impossible on my own.

I’m grateful for all my experiences, good and bad. Those experiences made me who I am today.

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s be grateful. I know some are in rough seasons but finding one thing to be grateful for can help keep your mental health steady.

Happy Thanksgiving from our farm to yours.
